Mining Scholarship Program

The Indiana Coal Council awards scholarships for post-secondary education on an annual basis.  The number and amount of each scholarship is determined by the Council's Board of Directors annually.  The following is a summary of the program:

Eligibility:

Students enrolling in Vincennes University Mining Technology programs are given priority consideration.  Other mining related programs and universities will also be given consideration.

Selection Criteria:

Applicants must demonstrate financial need.

Applicants must meet minimum academic standards.

Applicants must demonstrate a reasonable chance for graduation.

Career goals in coal mining are necessary.

Work History

Candidates may be interviewed in person, or by phone, as a part of the selection process.
